About me
Hi, my name is August.
I am a self-taught full stack developer with front end leanings. I currently working as a software engineer and mentor at the bootcamp, Northcoders. As you might be able to guess, I also really like otters!
I have experience in both front and back end technologies, but love all things front end and accessibility!
In my day-to-day role, I work with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React.js, and PSQL. When working on the developemnet side of my role, I work with Typescript, Next.js, TailwindCSS, Prisma, Docker, Storybook, tRPC, RTL, Cypess, and dabble in AWS e.g. Lamda functions, SNS, etc.

Fun facts
- In addition to my native tongue of English, I speak Japanese, Spanish, German, French, Korean and Italian (those are roughly in order of fluency). I recently also started working on British Sign Language.
- I love to travel and particularly like checking out the local street art scene. Some of my favourite destinations have been Sevilla (Spain), Budapest (Hungary), Tokyo (Japan) and Christchurch (New Zealand). You can read about my latest travels on my blog.
- I love podcasts and ran my own for several months.
- I like to crochet and wish I was better at it.
